Glimmer Wine Keeps the Fizz — and Jobs— in BC
We’re proud to welcome our second client from British Columbia: Glimmer Wine!
Glimmer Wine is a women-owned company founded in British Columbia. They make two premium dealcoholized sparkling wines: a Blanc de Blancs and a Sparkling Rosé. Who's it for? The expecting parent. The designated driver. The friend who doesn't drink for cultural, health or entirely personal reasons. Glimmer's goal is simple: exceptional non-alcoholic wine on every wine list, every shelf and at every celebration.
People are clearly thirsty for it. Glimmer's sales have more than doubled year over year. You'll find it in hundreds of locations, from Pattison Food Group grocery banners and independent retailers to BC hotels and restaurants. Distribution is now expanding across Canada and into the U.S.
Glimmer works closely with its growers and production partners to make responsible sourcing and efficient production a priority as the company scales, as well as working to continually identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency across its supply chain.
Glimmer is focused on building a financially sustainable, scalable business with strong unit economics and diversified sales channels. They are also actively evaluating opportunities to improve sourcing, packaging, freight efficiency, and production processes as they scale, while prioritizing partners and practices that support a more efficient and responsible wine supply chain.
Glimmer works with Canadian retailers, restaurants, hotels, distributors, production partners, creatives, and other small businesses. As they grow, they are creating employment and learning opportunities, including working with students and emerging professionals on real-world projects in areas such as digital marketing, operations, data analysis, and business development. As sales and production volumes grow, Glimmer is able to generate more work and revenue for these local partners while creating new employment and contract opportunities within their own business.
What's next
Glimmer is heading into national and international expansion with British Columbia firmly at the centre. Financing from Fair Finance Fund will allow Glimmer Wine to purchase wine and production inputs in greater volumes, complete dealcoholization and bottling, and build sufficient inventory to fulfill existing and anticipated retail, hospitality and distribution demand. Importantly, this financing will also help keep production in Canada. As founder Jane Stoller says, “By keeping production in BC, we continue business for our Canadian production, bottling, warehousing, logistics, sales and creative partners!”
We’re thrilled to be part of their journey!
